Overview

Artificial intelligence is already changing how print and graphics companies manage estimating, customer communication, job intake, workflow documentation, sales support, administration, and production coordination. The challenge is not whether AI matters – it is knowing where it can create real value inside a print or graphics business. The OPIA AI & Automation Workflow Training helps participating companies move beyond general AI awareness and directly into practical workflow implementation.

This is a hands-on training program for Ontario print, graphics, packaging, signage, and related companies that want to identify useful AI opportunities, build internal capability, and leave the program with working AI-supported workflow tools designed around their own business processes.

Built for the Print and Graphics Industries

Most AI training is generic. This program is different.

The OPIA AI & Automation Workflow Training Program is designed around the operational realities of print and graphics businesses. Participants work through a structured six-week training process that helps them identify where AI can support their team, define a useful workflow opportunity, organize the information needed to support that workflow, test the solution, and prepare it for practical use.

Six weeks to Change your Business

The goal is not to just “learn about AI”. The objective is to build functional and practical internal capabilities through structured course material and exercises. Over the duration of the training, participants will participate in the following training modules:

  • Problem Definition – Identify
& validate high-value AI use cases
  • SOPs, Prompts and Static Data
  • Dynamic Data and Model tuning
  • Alternative Flows and Data Capture
  • End-to_end testing and measurement
  • Prepare the workflow for production use

Training Format

The AI Workflow Build Program is delivered online over six weeks from our Ontario-based trainers to your Ontario-based employee(s).

Each week includes:

  • 2 hours of live, remote training
  • ~3 hours of independent applied work
  • Online support throughout the program
  • Ontario based, independent AI Platform access for training and experimentation – any data is secure and is not used to train any AI model.

Participating companies also receive an additional month of AI platform access and support per trainee (6 trainees = six months additional access), after the six week course concludes. At the end of the support period, companies may choose to continue with the platform provided, or export their data and related materials to transfer to their own system(s) of choice.

Secure & Ontario-Based AI Infrastructure

Training and platform access are supported through Canadian-owned server infrastructure, housed right here in Ontario, and a foundation of open-source software. Company data and prompts developed throughout the training are not shared, sold, or used to train public AI models. The program is designed to support responsible business use of AI while helping employers maintain control over their internal information.

Who Should Participate

This program is designed for Ontario-based print, graphics, packaging, signage, and related companies that want to apply AI to practical business workflows. It may be especially useful for staff involved in:

  • Operations
  • Estimating
  • Customer service
  • Production coordination
  • Sales support
  • Administration
  • Workflow documentation
  • Process improvement
  • Digital transformation

Important Note:

Owner/operators, and majority shareholders, are not eligible as training participants under the Ontario Job Grant requirements. Employers should review eligibility requirements before applying. Designating an employee for training and then sharing their learnings to owner/operators between training sessions is a potential option to encourage OJG eligibility.
