Joanne Gore on Canadian Print’s Message

Oct 22, 2026 | PrintPulse Live

Canadian print has stories worth sharing, from the people behind production to the ways printed products connect brands and audiences. Those stories need clear messages if they are to reach people beyond the industry. As print considers how to attract future talent and strengthen its public profile, marketing has a role in helping others understand what the industry does and why it matters.

Joanne Gore will bring that marketing perspective to the Ontario Printing & Imaging Association’s PrintPulse Live webinar, How to Give Print a PR Makeover: Building a More Inclusive Future for Canadian Print. The online session takes place Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. ET. She will join Heather Black and Christine Yardley for an audience-driven conversation about talent, messaging, and innovation.

Marketing Experience Rooted in Print

Joanne is President and Chief Strategist of Joanne Gore Communications, which works with B2B technology, equipment, and manufacturing companies, including organizations in the print industry. Her work focuses on helping businesses clarify their messages and build awareness, engagement, and growth.

Her marketing career spans more than 30 years. According to her professional profile, she began as a graphic designer and has also worked with printing presses, developed campaigns, launched products, and led events. Her experience includes marketing leadership roles at Avanti Computer Systems and other technology companies. She also serves as Chief Marketing Advisor at Taktiful, where her work connects print and digital marketing with tactile brand experiences.

Why Clear Messaging Matters

A company can be skilled at producing print and still struggle to explain its value to people unfamiliar with the field. Descriptions of equipment, processes, and specifications may be meaningful to industry peers, while prospective employees, customers, and community partners need a clearer picture of the outcomes and opportunities behind them.

Joanne’s work emphasizes fundamental questions: whom an organization helps, how it helps, and why that matters. For printers and suppliers, those questions can sharpen customer communications. They can also help the wider industry explain its relevance, show the variety of work available, and connect with people who have never considered print as a career.

What Attendees Can Expect

Joanne will contribute a practical communications lens to a discussion that also considers recruitment, belonging, and creative visibility. Attendees can expect to think about the language and examples they use when describing print, as well as how a more coordinated industry story might reach new audiences.

The webinar includes audience participation. Participants will have an opportunity to share ideas for making Canadian print more visible, understood, and welcoming, while hearing how the three presenters approach the challenge from different parts of the industry.
